Abstract
Abstract
Organization within the structure of the armed forces plays a strategic role in defense efficiency, coherence, and authority. The present study aims to analyze the foundations and principles of Quranic organization in the Quranic thoughts of Imam Khamenei and to explain its connection with revealed teachings in the context of the armed forces. The main issue is to understand what foundations, principles, and Quranic underpinnings the desired model of organization possesses from his perspective.
This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and a directed content analysis method. The research population includes the Quranic verses related to organization in the Holy Quran and the corpus of statements and directives of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief (may his soul be sanctified). The data were analyzed using the method of istinṭāq (systematically presenting themes to the Quran and interrogating the verses), and the extracted foundations and principles were compiled in the form of conceptual tables.
The findings indicate that eight Quranic foundations—namely, monotheistic teleology, merit-orientation, precision (itqān), Wilayah-orientation, responsibility based on free will, hierarchy based on Wilayah, wise allocation of resources, and wise resilience—constitute the pillars of this model. At the level of principles, seven strategic principles have been identified: spirituality and organizational insight, stability of internal security, continuous innovation, command awareness, public participation in the defense structure, organization proportionate to asymmetric warfare, and strategic defense networking.
Conclusion: In Imam Khamenei’s intellectual system, organization is not a mere administrative tool but a divine-rational strategy for realizing religious governance, sustainable security, and modern Islamic civilization-building. The proposed model holds significant potential for redesigning existing structures within the armed forces based on Islamic values while simultaneously addressing the complex and asymmetric demands of contemporary defense.
