Facilitators of Taghut in the Qur'anic Thought of Ayatollah al-Uzma Khamenei (May His Shadow Extend)

This study explores the role of the facilitators of Taghut (tyrannical power) in the Qur'anic thought of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei (may his shadow be prolonged). According to his perspective, the struggle against Taghut is a fundamental pillar of monotheism and a prerequisite for the establishment of justice in society. Within this framework, Taghut cannot consolidate its dominance without the support of certain groups such as the Malaʼ (aristocrats and political elites), the Mutrafeen (those immersed in luxury and hedonism), and the Ahbar and Ruhban (deviant and innovation-prone religious scholars). These groups pave the way for societal deviation by means such as distorting the truth, promoting corruption, legitimizing oppression, and manipulating public opinion.Adopting an interpretive-analytical approach, this article examines the position and function of these groups within the power structure of Taghut. The findings indicate that intermediary groups—including mercenary thugs, deceived masses, passive elites, and dependent media—also play a central role in sustaining oppression and suppressing justice-seeking movements. This analysis reveals that, in the view of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, recognizing the synergistic network of Taghut-affiliated actors is essential for effectively confronting injustice and achieving social justice in the contemporary era.

The place of Rationality in the Political Thought of Sheikh Hadi Najmabadi with Emphasis on the Analysis of the Book of Tahrir al-Aqla

Sheikh Hadi Najmabadi is one of the prominent Iranian thinkers of the Constitutional Era who, through the integration of reason, religion, and tradition, presents a novel depiction of religious rationality. This study, using a qualitative approach and Quentin Skinner’s historical-interpretive discourse analysis method, seeks a conceptual rereading of Najmabadi’s rationalist thoughts in his book Tahrir al-‘Uqala (The Treatise of the Wise). Research data were collected through a complete textual analysis of the book using purposive sampling until theoretical saturation was achieved. Data analysis was carried out across four conceptual layers: historical concepts, intentional concepts, oppositional concepts, and textually constructed concepts. These layers ultimately led to the construction of a conceptual model of rationality. The findings reveal that, in Najmabadi’s thought, the essence of rationality is none other than tawhid (monotheism). Rationality is rooted in tradition, historical context, authorial intention, and the reformist needs of society. Within this framework, rationality is characterized by four features: it is historical, interpretive, political, and critical. Accordingly, a “critical religious rationality discourse” emerges—one in which legitimate criticism of government becomes possible, religion transforms into a source of justice and freedom, and rationality is viewed as a tool for both religious and political reform. This study is an effort to bridge the rational heritage of Islamic thought with discourse-generating horizons in contemporary politics.

FROM INVALIDATING LINEAGE-BASED PRIDE TO CONSTRUCTING A DOCTRINE OF UNITY: A STRATEGIC RE-READING OF THE VERSE OF DIGNITY (HUJURAT: 13) IN THE POLITICAL DISCOURSE OF AYATOLLAH KHAMENEI

This article analyzes the process of the "strategic re-reading" of Surah Al-Hujurat, verse 13, within the political discourse of Ayatollah Khamenei. It demonstrates how a Quranic principle, which serves to nullify prides of lineage, is transformed into a political-security doctrine for confronting the identity challenges of the contemporary world. While the Islamic Ummah is facing a paradigmatic tension between divisive nationalist identities and the schismatic strategies of global hegemonic powers (the Arrogance), this research employs qualitative content analysis on a collection of authoritative commentaries and his statements to explain this conceptual transition. The findings indicate that, in this discourse, the Verse of Dignity, while retaining its classical function, becomes an instrument for diagnosing "modern ignorance" (Jahiliyyah), and "Taqwa" (piety/God-consciousness) is redefined as the foundation of "revolutionary dignity" and the criterion for competence in governance. Accordingly, the Quranic concepts of "Habl Allah" (the Rope of God) and "Ummah Wahida" (One Nation) form the basis for constructing a "Doctrine of Resistant Unity." Ultimately, this research argues that through this re-reading, the Verse of Dignity transcends being a mere value-based principle and evolves into an identity-constructing, action-oriented doctrine that simultaneously negates secessionist identities and establishes the alternative identity of a "Resistant United Ummah" in the face of global hegemony.

Examination of the Religious Behavior of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi during the Years 1953-1941 (Shahri)."

An examination of the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi reveals that he exhibited various religious behaviors and policies throughout his rule. This article aims to analyze the religious and spiritual behaviors and policies of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi during the first twelve years of his reign, employing a descriptive-analytical methodology and gathering data through documentary-library methods. Therefore, the main research question is: What religious behaviors and policies did Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi adopt between 1953 and 1941, and what were the reasons and motivations behind these behaviors? The findings of this study indicate that during this period, he portrayed himself as a monarch supportive of religion and faith through actions such as participating in religious ceremonies, agreeing to incorporate religious subjects into school curricula, establishing close relations with the clergy and scholars, providing resources for their propaganda, promoting the belief in divine support from God and His saints for himself and his regime, and abolishing the stringent religious laws of Reza Shah's era. The primary reasons and motivations for these religious behaviors stemmed from the latent religious beliefs within Mohammad Reza Shah during that time, an awareness of the discontent among Iran's religious community regarding the anti-religious measures of Reza Shah’s rule, a reliance on religion and the clergy to counter communist and nationalist movements that threatened his monarchy, and the use of religion to consolidate power and legitimize his rule.

Analyzing the consequences of normalizing Arab-Israeli relations on the interests Iran within the framework of the Copenhagen Security Theory

The normalization of Arab-Zionist relations after the 1973 Ramadan War has so far gone through three stages: "secret treaties without diplomatic relations", "relations based on intelligence-security and to some extent economic cooperation", and "complete normalization (governmental and public). However, the issue of normalizing Arab-Zionist relations in light of the so-called "Abraham" pact is one of the important issues that can affect the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The present study intends to answer the question of what consequences the normalization of Arab-Zionist relations will have for the national interests and national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The research approach is qualitative and uses a descriptive analytical method. The study population of the study is books, articles, documents, and reports that have been written on the subject in question and have been analyzed after review. The research findings indicate that the consequences of normalizing relations between the Arabs and the Zionist regime include Iran's geopolitical dilemma, limiting the capacities of Shiites and resistance groups, changes in regional order patterns, and so on.

The Roles of the Qur’an in Defense Objectives and Policymaking, with Emphasis on the Defensive Thought of Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure)

Abstract
The Holy Qur’an pays close attention to the various dimensions of defense and assigns multiple roles to it. This paper examines several of these roles. On the one hand, the Qur’an provides the rational dimension of defense by setting forth reasonable and legitimate objectives for combatants, such as the removal of oppression and corruption, the liberation and protection of the oppressed, and the expansion of the school of truth. In this respect, the Qur’an plays a fundamental rational role in defense.
On the other hand, the Qur’an provides the defense policymaking dimension by outlining the governing principles and rulings of defense, including proportional retaliation, the prohibition of aggression, oppression, and rebellion (baghy), the prohibition of harm to women and children, and the preservation of natural resources and the environment. Accordingly, the Qur’an functions as a source of defense policymaking.
Moreover, the Qur’an itself serves as an instrument of defense against the enemy; that is, through the Qur’an, major jihad (jihad al‑kabir) can be pursued in the form of cultural jihad. From this perspective, the Qur’an plays a significant role in soft warfare.
This study employs established Qur’anic exegetical methods alongside an analytical examination of the statements of the Supreme Leader, Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure).

Reflection of Soft War on the Family from the Perspective of the Teachings of the Holy Quran

The family is the oldest structure that mankind has created, and humans need and owe it to it. In fact, the family is at the top of all organizations and the creator and strengthener of every community and society. The enemy is active in various dimensions, and if it does not come to the fore in the field of hard war, it means that it has not achieved results in hard war. Today, soft war is one of the most effective, least expensive, most dangerous and most complex types of threats against the values and national security of a country. The purpose of this research is to answer this question: what is the reflection of soft war on the family from the perspective of the teachings of the Holy Quran? The hypothesis states that from the perspective of the Holy Quran, soft war has many negative effects on the family. In order to protect families from any kind of harm, the researcher has conceptualized the data obtained from the verses of the Holy Quran in three layers of primary, secondary and comprehensive themes using the content analysis method. Based on these concepts, primary themes (individualism, individualism, mortality, instability, extravagance, waste, abuse, self-adornment, revealing, identity burning, and self-disbelief) and organizing themes (individualism, isolation, fleeting life, worldly appearance, waste, wastefulness, self-decoration, self-show, self-forgetfulness, and lack of self-belief) were obtained. By combining and merging eleven closely related organizing themes, five overarching themes were extracted, including individualism, fashionism, extravagance and consumerism, display and display, and cultural self-destruction, with an emphasis on the teachings of the Holy Quran.

A Comparative Reflection on the Virtue of Wisdom in the Shiite Tradition and Positive Psychology

Wisdom, as one of the fundamental human spaces, has been examined in the Shiite tradition and positive psychology with different but sometimes complementary characteristics. This research, using a library-analytical method, conducts a comparative study of the concept of wisdom in the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and the findings of positive psychology. The results show that both traditions consider wisdom to require knowledge, education, and practical application, but with fundamental differences in the foundations and goals: 1) In the Shiite tradition, wisdom is defined as arising from divine obedience and piety and beneficial thinking, dependent on divine guidance and commitment to religious values. This view links wisdom with spirituality, sincerity, and moral responsibility. 2) In positive psychology, wisdom is more cognitive-pragmatic and depends on the components of creativity, curiosity, believability, and problem solving. The two perspectives overlap in their interpretations of individual growth, moral excellence, and the social utility of wisdom, but the key difference lies in the divine origin (in the Shiite tradition) versus the empirical-rational origin (in psychology), as well as the methods of its cultivation. Finally, by presenting a combined model, it is suggested that educational and cultural policymakers design a comprehensive environment for the cultivation of wise people with scientific interpretations and spiritual teachings.

Exploring the Role of Qur'anic Guidance in the Religious and Social Education of the Law Enforcement Forces of the Islamic Republic: A Qualitative Study Based on Qur'anic Verses

The present study examines the role of Qur'anic guidance in the religious and social training of the law enforcement forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This research is qualitative and philosophical in nature, utilizing inductive content analysis and a systematic data coding method for information analysis. The findings of the research indicate that Qur'anic guidance encompasses five main categories: the factors promoting the guidance process, the nature of the guidance process, obstacles to the guidance process, those eligible and ineligible for guidance, and the effects associated with guidance. Each of these categories includes a set of components related to divine guidance, ethics, and values that address various aspects of the subject of guidance from the perspective of the Qur'an. The findings suggest that the values and teachings contained in the verses of the Qur'an can play a significant role in shaping the religious identity and social behaviors of these forces. Furthermore, this research delves into the profound connection between religious foundations and social principles in the training of law enforcement personnel, demonstrating how the implementation of these principles can strengthen the spirit of service, ethical conduct, and respect for citizens' rights. The final conclusion of this study indicates that proper utilization of Qur'anic guidance can lead to the development of effective training models for law enforcement personnel, which can be practically implemented in their education system, ultimately enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in society.

Drawing the Ideal Negotiation Model in Ayatollah Khamenei's Epistemological Geometry

The thoughts of political thinkers about an issue are formed based on their intellectual and behavioral foundations.
