Comparative analysis of Iran and Türkiye's security-military policies towards the Kurdistan region of Iraq with the approach of the Copenhagen school (2005-2023)

The main goal of the research is to investigate the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Türkiye towards the security-military policies of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq by using the Copenhagen school. Kurds can be considered as the largest landless ethnic group that are scattered in several neighboring countries including Iraq, Syria, Iran and Türkiye. Considering this security interdependence, the question comes to mind, what is the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey towards the security-military policies of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region in the years 2005 to 2023? The exact answer to this question requires attention to two different, but connected parts. The first part is what is the perception of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Türkiye towards the Kurdistan Region of Iraq? And the second part is that based on the perception of these two countries towards the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, what policy and approach have they taken towards the security-military policies of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq? By using the Copenhagen school as the theoretical framework of the current research and its two main concepts, namely the concept of sectors and the theory of regional security complex, the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey towards the security-military policies of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in the years 2005 to 2023 can be analyzed. checked
